Privacy notice

Just Carla Creative is a sole proprietorship operated by Carla Glen in South Africa. This notice explains what personal information I collect, why, and what I do with it. It follows the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What I collect

• Enquiries: your name, email, organisation, website, what you need help with, timing and budget range.
• Mission Visible audits: everything you enter in the audit questionnaire, including any documents you choose to upload.
• The In-Between: your email address, held by Substack.
• Website use: basic, anonymised analytics. No advertising trackers.

Why I collect it

To answer your enquiry, to do the work you've paid for, and, only if you've explicitly opted in, to send you The In-Between. Nothing else.

How long I keep it

• Enquiries that don't become work: 12 months.
• Client records: 5 years, as required for tax and accounting.
• Documents uploaded for an audit: deleted within 90 days of your report being delivered.
• Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.

Who I share it with

Nobody, except the service providers needed to run the business, payment processing, form hosting, email delivery and file storage. I don't sell data, and I never will.

Marketing consent

Buying an audit or sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to anything. The In-Between is a separate, optional tick-box that is never pre-ticked.

Audit clients are separately and optionally asked whether anonymised findings may be used in my marketing. Your organisation is never named without explicit written permission.

Your rights

You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or withdraw consent at any time. Email justcarlacoms@gmail.com and I'll action it within 30 days.

Service terms

Mission visible audits

• Reports are delivered within 5 working days of a completed questionnaire.
• The audit assesses publicly visible information plus whatever you supply. Private or inaccessible channels are marked as not assessed rather than scored down.
• Refunds: full refund if you cancel before I begin work. Once your report has been written, no refund, but tell me if something's wrong and I'll fix it.
• Findings are professional opinion offered in good faith. They aren't guarantees of funding, reach or any other outcome.

Brainstorm over coffee

• 90 minutes, online or in person in Cape Town, paid in advance.
• Full refund if you cancel more than 48 hours beforehand. Inside 48 hours, one free reschedule.
• A written summary follows within two working days.
• This is creative and strategic consulting. It isn't coaching, counselling, legal advice or financial advice.

Project and retainer work

• Scope, fees and timelines are agreed in a written proposal before work begins.
• Retainers run monthly with a stated minimum term and 30 days' notice to end.
• Invoices are payable within 14 days unless otherwise agreed.
• You own the final delivered work once paid for in full.

Use of AI

I use AI tools to speed up research, drafting and analysis, in the same way I'd advise clients to. Every deliverable is reviewed and stood behind by me personally. Confidential client material and any personal information about beneficiaries is never entered into third-party AI tools.
